Williams Randall Chosen to Create Website for Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection

02.15.2011

Indianapolis, Ind. - The Indiana State Museum Foundation, in collaboration with the Allen County Public Library, have a nationally significant collection of material related to Abraham Lincoln and his times. Started in 1928 by Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, the collection grew to become the world's largest privately held collection of Lincoln-related material. The collection includes documents signed by Lincoln, including copies of the Emancipation Proclamation; objects that belonged to his family; artwork; rare books; and photographs. Now the Indiana State Museum owns the collection and sought to have a website created.

Williams Randall will create a website that will be a primary resource for research on Lincoln. It will have entry points for use by different audiences, from elementary school students to seasoned researchers. For most people in the world who cannot visit the collection in person, this Williams Randall-created website will be their only access to the collection. The site will have a powerful search component and engaging content so that visitors can easily find all the areas of interest to them.
